Leadership
Brian Wilson
President and Managing Director
Brian founded Pendo in March 2009 and leads the firms overall operations and strategic direction, while managing certain client relationships including family-owned businesses, ESOPs, and asset managers including private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds.
Prior to forming Pendo, Brian was a senior professional at Duff & Phelps focused on investment banking and business valuation services including fairness & solvency opinions, ESOP advisory, and mergers & acquisition advisory. In addition Brian helped form Duff & Phelps’ Chicago private equity services valuation practice.
Brian began his career with Morgan Stanley in Chicago, before joining the private equity firm AGL Capital Investments, LLC (“AGL”) in Denver, CO. Brian’s role at AGL included analyzing and facilitating middle market leveraged buyouts and late stage venture capital investments. In particular Brian was active with portfolio company investments including ApartmentSearch.com (subsequently sold to a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway), Colorado Cinemas (sold to Providence Equity Partners), The Meyers Group (sold to Hanley Wood), and US Online.
Brian resides in Chicago with his wife Marilynn and three children. He has a BS from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
Brian is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the ESOP Association.
Scott Bednas, CFA
Managing Director / Transaction Opinion Practice Leader
Scott joined Pendo shortly after formation as co-founder and leads Pendo’s transaction opinion practice and serves on Pendo’s leadership team. Scott is a seasoned finance professional with substantial operations and technology industry experience. Most recently, Scott was a senior professional in the investment banking practice of Duff & Phelps Securities, LLC focusing on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, fairness opinions, solvency opinions, private business valuations, and portfolio valuations. Scott advised corporate boards and c-level executives at organizations ranging in size from middle-market private companies to Fortune 500 publicly traded companies. Scott also advised the general partners of private equity firms and hedge funds regarding both transactions and portfolio valuation.
Scott began his career in the technology industry, acquiring ten years of operating experience as a Software Engineer, Product Architect and Project Manager. From 1998 to 2003, Scott was with Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR) in Detroit. As a Project Manager, Scott managed the financial, operational, and human resource aspects of multiple projects for clients in the automotive, retail, and healthcare industries. From 1994 to 1998, Scott was at New World Systems where he developed and implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions for the public safety and public administration departments of municipal governments.
Scott holds an M.B.A from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where he graduated with high distinction and was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Scott also holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan.
Scott is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. Scott is also a member of the Association for Corporate Growth. Scott earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
Peter Aliferis
Managing Director / ESOP Advisory Practice Leader
Peter joined Pendo in 2010 and leads Pendo’s activities in the ESOP advisory space along with serving on Pendo’s leadership team. Peter is a finance professional with experience in fairness and solvency opinions, ESOP advisory services, valuations for estate planning and financial reporting purposes, leveraged buyouts, management buyout transactions and private placements. Mr. Aliferis was previously a senior professional for Prairie Capital Advisors, Inc. Mr. Aliferis was involved in the business development and execution of various financial analyses and other studies in support of a wide variety of valuation and transaction projects involving closely held corporations. He was involved in numerous engagements including fairness and solvency opinions, ESOP advisory, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged
buyouts and management buyout transactions.
Prior to Prairie Capital Advisors, Inc., Mr. Aliferis was employed as a Securities Analyst/Private Equity Analyst with Advanced Equities Inc. During his tenure with Advanced Equities, Mr. Aliferis published numerous equity research reports on companies within the wireless infrastructure sector. He also analyzed the capitalization structure of privately held companies for the purposes of private placement
investments Prior to joining Advanced Equities Inc., Mr. Aliferis was employed with Zacks Investment Research as
a Research Analyst. In this capacity, he provided research on companies in the technology sector focusing on the fundamental analysis of earnings per share and relative growth rates.
Mr. Aliferis holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from DePaul University and a Master’s of Business Administration with concentrations in Finance, Economics and Accounting from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
Elizabeth Stucker
Director of Operations
Elizabeth has over 10 years of experience in the financial services sector and oversees project management and staffing for various engagements including ESOP valuations and transactions, fairness opinions, and solvency opinions.
Prior to joining Pendo, Elizabeth was a Senior Associate within the investment banking practice at Duff & Phelps, LLC where she focused primarily on ESOP transactions, private business valuations, fairness and solvency opinions, and mergers and acquisitions. Elizabeth also held positions at Morgan Stanley and Baird and Warner. Prior to that, Elizabeth successfully completed the Commercial Banking Development Program at Bank One where she focused on middle market general and asset based lending, commercial real estate underwriting, and investment grade securities bond originations.
Elizabeth graduated with honors from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Science in Finance and a minor in Economics.
